Kingswood’s Michael Fearn Shortlisted for Apprentice of the Year Award

October 9, 2025

Kingswood Chartered Accountants is delighted to announce that Michael Fearn has been shortlisted as a finalist for the Doncaster Chamber of Commerce Apprentice of the Year Award.

The winner will be revealed at the Doncaster Chamber Business Awards 2025, taking place on Thursday 11 December at Doncaster Racecourse. The Apprentice of the Year category is proudly sponsored by Polypipe Building Products.

Michael joined Kingswood in 2021 after graduating with a first-class degree from Newcastle University. Since then, he has made a remarkable impact within the firm – leading audit assignments for clients across South Yorkshire and beyond, and developing trusted relationships built on professionalism, accuracy, and care.

Throughout his apprenticeship, Michael has demonstrated outstanding commitment to both his studies and his clients. He has successfully passed all 15 of his ICAEW accountancy exams at the first attempt and will shortly be granted his chartered status by the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW).

Outside of work, Michael is equally dedicated to his community. He volunteers as a coach at Doncaster Plantworks A.B.C, a not-for-profit amateur boxing club where he leads children’s training sessions and supports young athletes at events across the country.

Speaking about his nomination, Michael said:

“It’s an honour to be recognised by the Doncaster Chamber alongside so many other talented apprentices. I’ve had fantastic support from the team at Kingswood, and I’m grateful for the opportunities I’ve had to grow both professionally and personally.”

Kingswood audit director, Mark Garrison, added:

“Michael’s drive, professionalism, and commitment to continuous improvement are exemplary. We’re incredibly proud of his achievements and delighted to see his hard work recognised with this nomination.”

Everyone at Kingswood wishes Michael the very best of luck for the awards evening in December.
